The routes in Sicily

Start and end every day in an iconic medieval mountain town, Erice, with panoramic views over the Mediterranean Sea and the Egadi Islands. From here you have the possibility to follow three different itineraries, which will take you to discover the West of Sicily from every angle. So let’s go! Each day you’ll have the choice to ride on your own (with your digital roadbook & GPS) or to follow your guide and enjoy the group atmosphere!

Itinerary

The order of the routes in Sicily are flexible. If you are riding solo, you can choose your itinerary. If you ride with the group, our guides will choose the best route each day, considering both the weather and the group’s riding experience, so everyone has a smooth, memorable journey.

Your stay in Sicily

Set between the tranquility of Mount Erice and the sweeping blue of the Tyrrhenian Sea, Venere di Erice Resort & Spa is your sanctuary in Western Sicily.

Perfectly positioned at the base of the mountain, just a 15-minute scenic drive up to Erice’s historic downtown, the resort offers effortless access to both dramatic coastline and thrilling winding roads. Start your day with a rich breakfast on the terrace before hopping on your Vespa to explore ancient temples, salt pans, and hidden coves.

Return each evening to relax by the panoramic pool, rejuvenate in the spa, or enjoy local Sicilian specialties with views stretching toward Monte Cofano. Your comfortable room with a private balcony or terrace provides the ultimate setting to unwind before tomorrow’s ride.

Your Vespa

  • If you want to receive your vespa earlier, or want to keep it a bit longer, you can choose the Early Pick-Up and/or the Late Drop-Off. With those options, the Vespa is yours from 2pm on your arrival day and/or you can return it at 2pm on your departure day (€50 per option).

Can I drive the Vespa Solo?

The prices are calculated with the assumption that the Vespa is shared between 2 people. If you would like to drive solo, there is a supplement of €130 per single driver (per person). So, if there are two of you and you both want to drive a Vespa, the solo supplement applies twice.

Driving license
  • In order to drive our Vespas in Sicily, you must have a driving license (B) or a motorbike license (A) and be 18+. The license (AM) is not valid. The passenger sitting in the back does not need to be 18 nor have a driving license.

European driver’s licenses are fully accepted. If your license was issued outside of Europe, you will need to bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside your national license.

Start-to-Vespa
  • Do I need to have driving experience with a Vespa or scooter in order to drive the Vespa?

Not really, however if you’re still quite unsure about your driving skills, we strongly recommend practicing beforehand and booking the Start-to-Vespa lesson.

On your arrival day in Sicily, your guide will provide all the essential information plus an introductory lesson to help you get comfortable with riding and to ensure you can drive safely in Italian traffic.

  • After the lesson, you can keep your Vespa for extra practice and to start exploring at your own pace. This class costs €50 per person.

GPS
  • The designed routes for your trip are uploaded on a GPS, which you can easily attach to the steering wheel of your Vespa. With this GPS (+ €30) you’ll come by the most beautiful roads and arrive at the most stunning stops.

Food & drinks
  • Daily breakfast is included in the price. For a lovely lunch or dinner*, we always recommend some of our favorite restaurants. In the hotel, or nearby in Erice, the home base for your Vespa Trip, you will find many cozy restaurants and nice bars.

*Lunch and dinner are not included in the package.

Vespa waiver
  • Your Vespa automatically includes insurance for damage to third parties. For coverage of damage to your own Vespa, you can choose between two options*.

    • Vespa waiver at €89 per Vespa: This waiver brings your liability to €0 and requires no deposit.
    • €500 deposit: This deposit will be paid back within 2 weeks after your departure if you bring back the Vespa without any damage. If you choose this option, you’re fully liable in the event of damage.

*About a month before departure, you’ll receive an email where you can select the option that suits you best. You must choose one of the above options before receiving the keys of your Vespa.
