Bruges The Venice of the North

Independent micro-adventure on an authentic Vespa along the most beautiful roads of the Flemish Polders, with the historic city of Bruges as a starting point.

Bruges & The Flemish Polders

From Bruges, you set off on your own scooter adventure on a panoramic route along the river to Damme. Armed with your GPS in one hand and the road book in the other, you'll cruise along some typical winding roads through the Flemish countryside.

After a short stop in the picturesque village of Damme, you continue your tour towards the nature reserve 't Zwin'. Along the way, you'll feel as though you're alone in the world, because you will rarely come across other people. A great way to unwind!

The routes

There are two possible routes. The short route (only 50 km) takes you from Bruges to nature reserve 't Zwin and then back to the historical town in a nice loop through tiny picturesque roads. The extensive route (75 km) takes you just across the Dutch border to the coastal village of Cadzand and the old fortified town of Sluis. From there you'll drive back to Bruges through the countryside.

Both routes are programmed into your GPS, so you'll be able to choose which one you'd like to try out on your Vespa day.

The Vespa Trip Bruges explained

Your own Vespa

You'll have your own scooter at your disposal for the entire day. You can pick it up between 9 and 11AM at our base near Fort Lapin in Bruges.

In the evening, you can return your beloved scooter to the same place before 7 PM.

Drivers license

To drive a Vespa, you need to have a valid driving licence B, A or AM. The Vespas are automatic, so you don't need to shift gears while driving - easy!

GPS & ROAD BOOK

At the start of your scooter adventure, you will receive a GPS. All our routes are loaded into it. This gives you the freedom to independently explore the beautiful region!

We'll also provide you with a road book containing all useful information about the route and the various stops.

Food

In the afternoon, you can enjoy our delicious picnic basket during a lunch stop with your scooter. The beach of Cadzand is the perfect location to discover this basket full of surprises.

For dinner, we recommend some restaurants in the centre of the historic city of Bruges. Of course, you are also free to choose a nice spot yourself.

Your Vespa during the trip

The classic Vespa Primavera 50cc is one of the most authentic and comfortable scooters from Italy. Since the Vespas are only 50cc, you can drive them with a driving licence B, A or AM. They are also fully automatic, so you don't have to think about shifting gears. If you choose the picnic box, a wicker basket will be mounted onto the back.
