Book your Vespa Trip with peace of mind
Booking trips in these challenging corona times brings up a lot of questions.
At Travelbase we are therefore committed to safe and responsible travel in 2021. We expect that next summer, with any necessary measures, all our trips to Italy will be able to take place.
Despite the uncertain times, The Vespa Trip was able to continue last summer from July 10 to September 15, 2020. We therefore expect that next summer, should there still be travel restrictions, there will be no reason not to travel to Italy either.
To ease your doubts, we offer very flexible conditions in our cancellation insurance. These allow you to cancel up to 30 days before departure free of charge and without having to give any reason.
Included in this insurance
- 100% cash back, within 14 days back on your bank account
- Cancellation without any reason up to 30 days prior to departure
- Change your travel dates for free
- Protection in case you have to cancel within 30 days before departure
5 reasons why you should go
on The Vespa Trip in 2021
Italy, the country with the most UNESCO World Heritage sites
Perhaps you long to be able to travel to the most culturally rich places on earth again. In corona times you can see a Vespa Trip to Italy as the perfect alternative for your distant journey, but then just a bit closer.
Define the course of
your trip yourself
You travel on your Vespa through vast landscapes, along endless coastal paths and through small hamlets. You stop when and where you want, you only meet as many people as you want.
Although Italy was the first European country to be hit by the virus, they managed to prevent a resurgence of infections in the summer. Because the Italian population experienced very heavy lockdowns, they did everything they could to make sure everything was as safe as possible.
Cancellation insurance with super-flexible conditions
We understand that, despite all these reasons, you still have doubts and booking anxiety. Summer still seems so far away, and who knows what will happen! To take away that last spark of doubt, we offer our Cancellation Insurance: it allows you to cancel completely free of charge up to 30 days prior to departure without giving any reason, and get your travel money back within 14 days.
Always covered thanks to Amlin
Travelbase is also covered by a solvency insurance policy of Amlin Insurances: as a consumer you are covered by this insurance fund, even if we can no longer keep our promises and have to close the books.
Frequently asked questions
Can The Vespa Trip continue in 2021?
In the uncertain summer of 2020, The Vespa Trips continued uninterrupted between July 10 and September 15. We therefore expect that in the summer of 2021, if there are still travel restrictions, this will also not be a reason for not being able to travel to Italy.
What measures are being taken in relation to the coronavirus?
Who takes the plane: mouth mask must be worn, everyone's temperature is measured at the airport, and when getting on and off the plane a fixed procedure is followed.
At the hotel: mouth mask must be worn during the welcome speech by our guides & when distance cannot be respected. Your Vespa will be fully disinfected before arrival.
During the routes: you ride in open air on your own Vespa, so social distancing is widely respected. You have your own trusty two-wheeler, so you go wherever you want.
These measures may change according to the instructions of the Dutch, Belgian & Italian governments. In case of uncertainty, the strictest measure will always be applied.
What if my home country won't let me go to Italy?
If the government of your country imposes an entry ban to Italy or a ban on air travel, you can cancel free of charge up to 2 weeks before departure, regardless of whether you have cancellation insurance. We will then refund the paid amount, so you can book your Vespa without any risk!
What if I'm not allowed to enter Italy next summer?
If the Italian government imposes an entry ban on your country, you can cancel for free, regardless of whether you have the cancellation insurance or not. If you have our cancellation insurance, you will get a refund. If you don't have cancellation insurance, you get a lifelong valid travel credit worth the full amount of your trip to make The Vespa Trip or any other Travelbase trip of your choice. So you can book your Vespa for this summer without any risk!
Did you receive a Travelbase voucher last summer?
You can use the voucher for a payment at The Vespa Trip. But vouchers don't fall under the refund conditions and will be refunded as a voucher instead of cash. Repayment in cash for a voucher is only possible according to the conditions described on the voucher itself.
What if I have corona or need to be quarantined before departure?
If you have tested positive for corona or you have to go into mandatory quarantine because you have come into contact with someone who tested positive, you can cancel your booking free of charge up until the day of departure, provided you have taken our Cancellation Insurance.
